The AleNor project brings together the skills of three Norman laboratories (GREYC in Caen, LITIS and LMRS in Rouen).
It is dedicated to the study of large data and the algorithmic involved. This project focuses on an original, probabilistic approach which it applies on the modeling, the issues it addresses, and the methods it implements.
The objects considered are varied (numbers, Euclidean lattices, words, texts from the theory of information, automata, geometric structures, maps, hypergraphs...) as well as the methods and tools envisaged (probability theory, dynamic systems, information theory, analytic combinatorics, dynamic combinatorics ...).
Each of the three project teams has a recognized expertise in one of the aspects of the field, and a well-marked specialty, either on the type of data studied, on the questions asked, or on the proposed modeling or resolution methods.

The themes developed in the project are mainly (and not reduced to):

  • dynamical systems and randomness;
  • probability and ergodic theory;
  • text algorithmics and randomness.
