An hour and a half from Paris by road or rail, Rouen is in the northwest of France, on the lower Seine, about 100 km from its estuary.

This historical capital of Normandy, known as the "Hundred Spires City", is one of the largest river and sea ports of France, located at the highest point reached by river by seagoing vessels.

iwsm Rouen has an exceptional heritage and is a charming city of art : the old city center has kept intact its medieval architecture with its half-timbered houses. Its picturesque streets are unavoidable during a ride.

The symbolic figure of Rouen, Joan of Arc is present everywhere in the streets, squares and monuments in the capital of Normandy.

In the middle of the Hundred Years War, the young woman marked the history of France forever. From Domrémy to Orléans, her route was full of success until her fall in Rouen in 1431. From the Tour de la Pucelle, via the Place du Vieux Marché and the Cathedral, a trail retraces Joan’s last hours through the streets of the town.

iwsm Nowadays Rouen (466,000 inhabitants including suburbs) has a vibrant cultural and artistic life, a thriving economy and many sporting activities.
